The boats converge on the Clubhouse at the end of a long day!

From Monday to Thursday, more than 240 schoolchildren attended the Science sessions

organised by Elaine Stanley of British Waterways. The children spent ½ the day in the

Clubhouse conducting experiments on water quality and studying rain forest animals.

The other ½ day found the children steering one of the three HNA narrowboats, and

discovering how a canal lock works.

The boats departed from the clubhouse and travelled through Cowley lock, before winding

and returning to the Clubhouse.

Eight steerers under the watchful eye of Tim Snowden, staffed the boats over the 4 days.

The children were supervised by accompanying teachers and helpers
